In January 2025, I was fortunate to participate in CSUCI’s Hawai’i Service Learning trip to Maui — an incredible opportunity combining research, restoration work, and community engagement. From assisting with humpback whale studies and restoring native habitats to helping local communities affected by the Lahaina Fire, this hands-on experience taught me invaluable skills in teamwork, environmental stewardship, and cultural awareness.
